About San Diego Special Needs Law Center

The San Diego Elder Law Center was founded in 1997 by San Diego attorney Philip P. Lindsley to better serve the legal needs of San Diego County's elders and those with disabilities and special needs, and to provide needed planning, assistance, and support for their families and caregivers. In 2014 Mr. Lindsley also established San Diego Special Needs Law Center to address some of the confusion in the disability community with the term “Elder Law,” and to allow more clarity for families with disabilities as to our services. Mr. Lindsley has 35 years of experience in advocating for and protecting those with disabilities, and assisting them in realizing their potential. This includes expertise in Medi-Cal and other public benefits programs and services, conservatorships, family and disability estate planning, special needs trusts, estate administration, and advocacy in the care system. We limit our practice to these areas. Mr. Lindsley has been designated a Certified Elder Law Attorney (CELA) by the National Elder Law Foundation. The specialization of Elder Law includes the field of special needs and disability planning, as well as related areas of advocacy. This specialization in Elder Law is accredited by the State Bar of California and the American Bar Association. He is one of only two certified specialists in this field in San Diego County. Philip Lindsley is also a California State Bar Certified Specialist in Estate Planning, Trusts and Probate, and an Accredited Veterans Administration Attorney.
